Surrounded by the magnificent Kogelberg mountain range and Bot River Lagoon, and edged by wild fynbos, the picturesque Arabella Country Estate is the ideal place to pursue a passion for golf and enjoy an idyllic golf holiday. The fabled 18-hole, Par 72 Championship course has consistently been ranked in the top 10 courses in South Africa. The 8th hole has been described as one of the most beautiful par 5’s in South Africa and the 18th hole was rated one of the finest finishing holes in the country.

The course was designed and built by the highly acclaimed South African golf course architect Peter Matkovich in 1999. Since then, many professionals and celebrities have enjoyed the Arabella Golf experience, including Jack Nicklaus, Samuel L. Jackson, Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Ronan Keating, Lee Westwood, Tim Clark and Gary Player.

Identified by UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee as a biodiversity “hot-spot”, the area is home to more than 1600 fynbos species and abundant bird and animal life. With 236 spacious freehold properties and plenty of open spaces set on 113 hectares of pristine land, and with 1.6km of lagoon frontage, Arabella encourages an organic style of architecture using natural materials, slate roofs and subdued earth colours in harmony with the surroundings. High standards of architectural and environmental quality are maintained, with an emphasis on environmentally sensitive design and energy efficiency.

Arabella residents can also enjoy the 5-star Arabella Hotel & Spa, which offers guests and residents stylish and opulent tranquility, fine dining, and pampering within the superb natural surrounds of the Estate.
