Your approach shots find you out. If the shaft length and lie angle on your irons aren’t right for you, it’s difficult to get close. If your shaft flex is not matched to your swing, then your trajectory and consistency will suffer. So will the distance you hit it.
If your swing path / plane is wrong then you’re going to struggle to hit straight and accurate golf shots. You’ll be the victim of hooks and slices depending on your error.
It might seem like a lot, but getting those aspects of your game sorted, is a really good investment in the greatest feeling in golf: watching an approach shot land close.
