Cruise the Klein River on the African Queen

Join Stanford River Cruise Company on the African Queen for eco-friedly scenic cruises up and down the beautiful Klein River in Stanford, just outside Hermanus. With breathtaking views of the Klein River Mountains, this unforgettable Stanford river trip will be one of your life’s highlights. The Klein River itself, features more than 127 kinds of birds as well as a variety of salt & fresh water fish, including bass. Otter’s, terrapins and various other indigenous animals are also found here.

 

​They cruise down the river about 5-7km’s,turn around and moor the boat somewhere quiet next to the reeds and do a braai, while you swim in warm, clean mountain water.

There are also some tubes with ropes on board for towing for the kids (and young at heart) behind the boat.

 

Stanford River Cruise Company supplies the fire, braai utensils and braai grids only. You need to bring your own picnic baskets with food, drinks, cutlery, crockery, casseroles and swimming wear/towels.

 

And don’t forget the sun downer cruise. There is no better way to end your day, than watching the sun slip behind the Mountains, seeing the beautiful trees reflected the water and listening to the birds singing for your enjoyment.

 

Departure schedule is 9am, 12pm, 3pm & 6pm Daily.

The duration of the cruises is Two and a Half hours.

Rates: R160pp with a minimum cruise requirement of 10 Pax (we add smaller bookings together to make a larger total.)

Max pax is 32 clients on board.

Private river charters are available at R4300-

No charge for kids under 3 not swimming.

Safe Parking available with a security guard with each trip on the launch site.

A booking sheet must be completed for ANY cruise reservation, available from our booking agent.
